When the author is not named in your sentence (or the author is unknown), provide either the title of the work, or the first word or two. Italicize or underline book and report titles; use quotation marks " " for articles, chapters and webpages. Also note the year of publication.
One researcher notes that, "the ideal program would retain body-worn camera (BWC) footage for months or even years, the cost of video storage can become prohibitive very quickly" ("Police body-worn," 2016).

There are two ways you can do this:
1. If you name the authors in the sentence, put the year of publication in parentheses immediately after the authors' names.
A study by Maur and Chessbaum (2013) suggests that...
2. If you do not name the authors in the sentence, place the authors' names in parentheses immediately after the sentence, using an ampersand & to separate the names. Include the year of publication.
As few as 23 percent of respondents reported no difference in elevation upon completion of the course (Maur & Chessbaum, 2013).
