Shared Space

The SFCC Library is a shared space for learning, creativity, and connection. We are not a quiet library. Conversation, collaboration, and community are welcome. Our goal is to maintain an environment where everyone can focus, share ideas, and feel comfortable. To keep the SFCC Library welcoming for all:

  • Contribute. Engage in conversation and use technology in ways that allows for a shared learning environment. Adjust the volume of your activity if it interferes with others work.
  • Respect. Be respectful of other library users, library resources, library property, and library staff.
  • Take Care. Leave library computers, furniture, equipment, and materials ready for others’ to use when you leave the library.
  • Quiet Study Area. The back area of the library is reserved for quieter, individual study. Conversation should be minimal in this area. Group work should take place in other parts of the library.
  • Follow Staff Guidance. The library may host events or programs that are lively and at other times staff may ask for quieter use so everyone can study.
  • Help maintain a positive atmosphere. Kindness, respect, and flexibility make the library a community everyone can enjoy.

The library belongs to all of us. Please help make the library welcoming, engaging, and respectful.
